New 1.1 Update for Ambient Atelier
Ambient Atelier — the ambient performance template for Ableton Live and Push 3 Standalone — has been updated to version 1.1. It's a free update for all existing users and brings a completely reworked Performance FX Rack, two new sounds, and reworked MIDI sequences. Here's everything that's new.
Reworked Performance FX Rack 2.0
The Performance FX Rack on the main channel has been rebuilt, with a new filter, a new Phaser, a reworked Echo, and new snapshots.
New morphable filter
The DJ-style filter has been replaced with a low-pass, ladder-style filter for smooth filtering of the entire signal.
The Morph control turns it into a band-pass filter at 50% and a high-pass filter at 100% (or anything in between).
It sits at the start of the signal chain and affects both the dry and wet paths, so you can cut all frequencies before they reach the other effects.
New macro controls: Resonance, Morph, LFO Amount and LFO Rate.
New Phaser
A new Phaser adds slow (or fast) stereo phasing to the whole wet signal path.
It sits at the start of the wet path, so the phased signal still runs through Echo, Grain Delay and Reverb for interesting results.
Macro controls: Dry/Wet (0% = no phasing), Frequency (speed), and Feedback. At 90–99% the phaser self-oscillates into whale-like tones — hear it in the "No Lows Sweep" snapshot.
Reworked Echo
The low-pass filter on the Echo is now wider, so it affects more frequencies.
The Echo behavior changed from "synced" to "dotted" for more interesting results.
Both left and right echo times are now controlled by a single Echo Time knob.
Snapshots
All 6 existing snapshots have been reworked around the new effects.
4 new snapshots added: "Slow Morph", "Hellicopter", "No Lows Echo" and "No Lows Sweep".
Removed
The Stutter effect was removed to make room for the new controls and save CPU.
The "Longverb Tide" macro was removed; the Longverb's Tide now defaults to 0 for a natural, long reverb space.
New Sound: Arp – Filter Delay (Channel 11)
A beautiful, glassy arp based on the Operator synth and the Filter Delay effect, creating interesting arp-delay repeats. A high LFO amount can produce haunted voice sweeps.
A new swap-in sound, with 4 presets.
New Sound: Pad – Chant (Channel 12)
A choir-like, chanting pad that fits beautifully into an ambient meditation. Slow, LFO-modulated filter movements make the chants brighter and darker over time.
A new swap-in sound, with 3 presets.
Reworked MIDI Sequences
Bass and Pluck Dreamy now have dedicated MIDI clips for all 7 sequences too — so you can hit play in all 7 scenes and have all 8 instruments playing.
Sequence 1 has been reworked for a more melodic feel.
